About
kingcaid with a g
kingcaid is the solo project of Michael Kingcaid, former frontman and songwriter for the Austin-based indie rock band What Made Milwaukee Famous (Barsuk Records). Known for his evocative lyricism and dynamic performances, Kingcaid channels his experience into a more dense, cinematic, pop sound under the kingcaid moniker.
Blending moody rock textures with atmospheric storytelling, kingcaid draws inspiration from Deer Tick, Queens of the Stone Age, Elliott Smith, Spoon, and Rufus Wainwright. His music captures the emotional weight of longing and redemption, with arrangements that feel both intimate and expansive.
